Omega bits


A sealed bearing bit designed to exceed expectation in unpredictable environments.

The Secoroc Omega sealed bearing bit provides better overall value for our customers. Lower TDC, higher ROP, longer bit life and the ability to use in variable drilling conditions, all contribute to cost savings and profit increases that vary from mine to mine depending on drill depth and patterns.

  • Omega seals – new patented outer “excluder” and inner bearing seal keeps contaminants out, while our resistant synthetic bearing lubricant reduces friction within. This increases bit bearing life to help lower total cost per distance drilled.
  • Epsilon lugs – streamlined lugs allows more cuttings to evacuation away from the bit. This feature reduces cone erosion, coring, shirttail and bit body wear as well as improved ROP for fast drilling.
  • Micro bearing finish – matched and precision finished bore and journal surfaces increase bearing longevity.
  • AB (Abrasion) Lug Armour – full body armor including protruded inserts with contoured body surfaces for cleaner holes and minimal abrasion.
  • ER (Erosion) Cones Armor – anti-erosion control inserts and carbide impregnated hardfacing protect our cones from further erosion.
  • Proprietary carbide – formulated material to improve longevity against hard and abrasive applications.

Epsilon bits


Designed to maximize productivity and lower your total drilling costs

Cutting structures (the placement of inserts) and bearing geometry have been optimized to distribute load more uniformly over the bearings. The result is a smoother and more balanced cutting structure, allowing sustained penetration rates over longer periods of time, with reduced risk of bearing failure. As an added bonus, full body armour minimises wear on both bit body and shirt tail.

  • The cutting structure is computer generated. A balanced cutting structure achieves longer service life while maintaining high penetration in appropriate drilling applications.
  • Streamlined lugs give more bailing area allowing faster cuttings evacuation away from the bit, reducing cone erosion, coring, shirttail and bit body wear; as well as improved ROP in fast drilling applications.
  • Air bearings – maximize bearing capacity to withstand higher loads and rotation.
  • Full body armor – provides maximize body and shirttail protection in abrasive drilling conditions. Hardfacing on leading edge of lugs, with tungsten carbide inserts from lug shirttail to lug shoulder.
  • “Hard Nose” cones – eliminates cone erosion in abrasive conditions. Hardfacing and/or round top tungsten carbide inserts applied on high wear cone surface.
  • Proprietary carbide – formulated material to improve longevity against hard and abrasive applications.
